Ing. Petr Klimeš, Ph.D.

Petr Klimeš specializes in the analysis of electrophysiological signals in neurology. During his Ph.D. studies, he completed a seven-month internship with Dr. Gregory Worrell’s team at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he focused on the functional connectivity of epileptogenic zones in epilepsy patients. From 2018 to 2020, he completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Frauscher’s lab at the Montreal Neurology Institute and Hospital in Canada, where he was awarded the prestigious Molson Neuro-Engineering Fellowship for the development of advanced methods in pre-surgical planning for epilepsy.

Since 2020, he has led the Computational Neuroscience research group at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences, which closely collaborates with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at ICRC. In 2024, he co-founded the software company WaveSurfers, focused on developing tools for the visualization of neurophysiological signals. Since the end of 2024, he has also served as a Senior Research Associate in the Analytical Neurophysiology Lab at Duke University in North Carolina, USA.
