Her current research focuses on understanding the role of the immune system in the progression of sepsis and its long-term consequences. Together with Jan Frič, she co-founded the European consortium BEATsepsis (www.beatsepsis.eu), which explores various aspects of the immune system in sepsis. This consortium was recently awarded a prestigious research grant – Horizon Europe, Research and Innovation Action (RIA) – to address the long-term consequences of sepsis.
